5th Annual Urban Poverty Forum

Sunday, February 5, 2012, 1:00 – 2:30pm
Downstairs at Town Hall, enter on Seneca Street. $5.
The Urban Poverty Forum exists to open a dialogue about the systemic issues surrounding urban poverty, and to unite a diverse community of care—including faith-based organizations, nonprofits, and concerned citizens—in addressing problems faced by the poorest among us.  This year’s event features Kristine Cunningham, Executive Director of ROOTS; Lori Pfingst, with the Washington State Budget & Policy Center; and the Rev. Linda Smith, an associate minister at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Baptist Church and pastor at Mary’s Place; it opens with a poem, followed by speakers, the 2011 Challenge, a dramatic presentation, produced by Sharon Williams of The Mahogany Project Q&A. Moderated by Marty Hartman of Executive Director of Mary’s Place. Presented by Seattle First Presbyterian Church, The Seattle Presbytery, Seattle University, and Real Change News, with Town Hall Seattle.
$5 suggested donation, please reserve in advance at Brown Paper Tickets. Doors open at 12:30 pm. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
