SUMMARY:

The Communications and Office Administrator will direct our church communications strategy using a variety of tools to communicate to our church family and broader community about the worship, life, and mission of our church. He or she will also provide administrative support, serving as a welcoming presence to all those who contact our church, responding to them in a gracious, responsible, and caring manner.

-Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and equipment and their use

Dir. of Youth & Young Adult Ministries - Kennewick First

Kennewick First Presbyterian Church is seeking a creative, passionate, and spiritually maturing person to lead a sustainable youth ministry that equips youth to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. This person will also work to grow KFPC’s ministry to and engagement with college-age young adults (~ ages 18-25). Depending upon the interests and gifts of the director, this person may also serve as the praise band leader for our contemporary worship service.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a degree in a related field preferred. Some previous experience working with youth in a congregational setting is desired. Youth Ministry Dir. - Seattle Community Church

Title:   Director of Youth Ministry.  Part Time (20 hrs./week).

Purpose:  To work with staff and session in planning, developing, and coordinating the Youth Ministry at SCC. 

Accountability:  Accountable to the pastor as head of staff. 

Responsibilities:

I.      Christian Education

A.    Nurture youth’s spiritual development through relationships, creative teaching and programming.

B.    Lead and coordinate Sunday youth programming, (6th - 12th grade).

C.    Lead and coordinate Friday youth program, (6th – 12th grade).

D.    Manage curriculum, resources, classrooms.

E.    Recruit and train teachers, facilitators and substitutes.

F.     Coordinate youth programs throughout the year, (creation fest, mission trip, lock-ins, winter retreat, Easter, Christmas and other special events).

G.    Offer input and contribute to Adult Christian Education in the area of Christian parenting and youth education. 

II.     Pastoral Care

A.    Counseling youth in cooperation and direction of the pastor.

B.    Work with youth’s support structure at church and in the home (working with parents).

III.   Administrative Duties

A.    Communication with staff, ministry team and congregation.

B.    Acquire resources/supplies for Youth Ministry.

Children's Ministry Dir./Intern - Magnolia PC

Purpose: To provide leadership for Sunday morning programs for children in preschool through grade 4.  To nurture children in knowing God’s love.  We are open to collaborating with you to fulfill internship requirements.

Qualifications: Deep commitment to Jesus Christ and his church; love for children and experience teaching children in a church setting; ability to motivate, encourage, and mentor volunteers; good organizational and communication skills.  Experience in children’s music leadership, while not a prerequisite, would be an asset in this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach Sunday School class for elementary grades during the latter part of the 10:30 worship hour, assisted by members of the congregation
  2. Regularly recruit and train volunteer teachers from the congregation to lead the preschool class during the same portion of the worship hour.
  3. Offer weekly children’s messages in the first portion of the worship service
  4. In consultation with Pastor and Children’s Ministry elder, select and purchase curriculum for all children’s classes
  5. Communicate regularly with Pastor and Children’s Ministry elder regarding all aspects of MPC’s children’s ministry
  6. Communicate regularly with the congregation regarding children’s ministry activities and resources, e.g. via monthly newsletter articles, weekly bulletin updates, use of bulletin boards and congregational email; update children’s ministry brochure as needed
  7. Oversee the production of a children’s Christmas pageant during the worship hour in mid-December, recruiting assistance as needed from the congregation.
  8. Maintain Children’s Ministry budget, in partnership with the Children’s Ministry elder.  Maintain records of students, teachers, and attendance statistics.

Childcare Attendant - Magnolia PC

The general responsibilities of the childcare attendant are to provide a loving, safe environment for our young children, to help them with age appropriate activities, and to take care of any needs the children may have.

The childcare attendant will cover the nursery (infants – age 3) during our worship service year-round, assist our regular Sunday School teachers with preschool or elementary classes on weeks when there are no children in the nursery, and supervise our Kid Zone play area during coffee hour after worship, ensuring that both the nursery and the Kid Zone are tidied up at the end of the day.

Hours:  Regular hours are 9:00 am to between 12 and 12:30 pm on Sunday mornings.  Summer hours are 10:00 am to 12:00 or 12:30 pm.  A few additional hours are possible periodically for special activities or services.

Compensation:  $15.00 per hour, averaging 2.5 - 3.5 hours per Sunday.  Each week’s precise hours to be recorded on a time card in the church office.

Youth Associate Director - Sammamish PC

SUMMARY

The Associate Director supports SPC’s mission of a “Christ Centered, Mission Minded Family.” The Associate Director will prayerfully and thoughtfully assists the Youth Director in articulating and implementing this mission in age appropriate ways for youth -- within the congregation and in the broader community.  He/She will build relationships with students; recruit and guide volunteer leadership teams; and creatively plan and execute weekly programs and special events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Cultivating a holistic and relational youth ministry  

Develop and grow a youth ministry department which invites leaders to invest in lives of students and equips families to grow in faith and service to Christ.

With leaders 

·       Recruit, nurture, and develop adult and student leaders to be partners in ministry to students.

·       Coordinate volunteer involvement, encourage them to support one another, and equip them to use their gifts in ministry.

With students

·       Initiate and pursue contact with students, individually and in groups, to care for them and to communicate the love of Jesus through words and actions.

·       Promote community between students, and between students and leaders.   
 

2.  Program Management—weekly and special events with particular focus on Middle School program

·       Work with staff and volunteer teams to encourage students’ spiritual growth through study of scripture, prayer, fellowship and service:

o   Contribute creative ideas, insight, vision, and enthusiasm for youth programs.

o   Plan and implement curriculum for year-long and summer ministry programs--Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, small groups, special events, retreats, and mission projects.

·       Communicate the good news of the Christian faith with warmth, humor, and effectiveness.

·       Invite, coordinate, and equip adult and student leaders to take various roles in programs and special events.

Production Coordinator - UPC

The Production Coordinator is a part-time, interim 4-6 month position. This position manages the copy, production, and outgoing bulk mail services for all departments of UPC. The Production Coordinator is positioned in the heart of the UPC activity hub, due to the nature of their work, frequently interacts with most staff members. Although many of the required tasks for this position are routine, there is opportunity for creative problem solving and streamlining processes. This position is a key player of the Communications Team, and prior experience with project management, office and postal equipment is a plus.
