Quiet Office This Week
Seattle Presbytery
Between the Fall Polity Meeting, Christa's recovery from her scheduled wrist surgery, and Aaron's move to half-time to make room for seminary, it's been a little hushed in the Presbytery office this week. We're still open Tuesday and Wednesday, and we're able to deal with phone calls and emails to some degree the rest of week.
Scott, Kevin, Dennis and Barbara are attending the Fall Polity meeting Monday and Tuesday of this week. An initial report from Scott says that "things are going well here. Some deeper discussions about GA, the overtures, and nFOG that are proving helpful. I think it's important to note that from a presbytery and synod staff level (which is the audience for Fall Polity), there is a good representation of the breadth of our church. Responses to proposed changes to the Book of Order both in its current form and nFOG are being discussed in a fullness that appreciates substance of who we are. In short, it's good stuff. It will helps us as a presbytery when we get into the substance of things ourselves."
