Christian Education Lunch, April 15

Seattle Presbytery

Christian Education Lunch on Thursday, April 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Wedgwood Presbyterian Church Library.
Guest:  Becky Fishburn from the Presbyterian Camp, Tall Timbers Ranch, near Leavenworth.  She will review their Summer Camp Programs for all ages including Elementary, Junior High, Senior High, Family Camps, Adult, and Caravan Adventure Camps
She will also introduce their new Program, "Comhar."  She writes:

"Comhar" (pronounced 'Core') is the Gaelic word for “teamwork” or “partnership”.  For us, it also means “community helping adventures” -  a partnership between Tall Timber, your church and local community based service groups in the greater Wenatchee area.

Let us help you design a unique mission experience for your youth - adult group combining meaningful local service projects with Tall Timber’s renowned  teambuilding adventure activities.  Tall Timber Ranch staff will handle all of the details such as food, lodging, worksite, Bible study, and evening activities."
This is an example of a "partnership model" where churches and Tall Timbers can partner together in doing local mission projects so that "camp experiences" are not "left behind" at a summer camp but can be reenforced at the local church level.   When the leaders participate in the summer camp experience, they can continue the experiences during the school year.  Each church can tailor the service projects to their interest.
