Saturday morning for most of Seattle Presbytery will be quite normal--coffee, paper, a little yard work, maybe a church function or workgroup--but for me and most of the staff, we'll be engaged in a quite extraordinary journey. Together with our commissioners, we'll be in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the 219th General Assembly of the PCUSA.
That's right -- Scott Lumsden, Dennis Hughes, Barbara Ranta, Mansour Khajehpour, Aaron Willett, and Kevin Nollette, will all be mixing and mingling, observing and participating, praying and worshiping at the biennial meeting of our church.
It's true that the purpose of this meeting is largely business, but that's not all that happens--just like commissioners attending a presbytery meeting, we will enjoy renewing connections and mission partnerships with others across this large and gifted church.
In fact because of the richness of this gathering, we're using this opportunity to communicate some of that richness through our updated website at seattlepresbytery.org. Check back here for daily updates from GA and continue to pray for God's will to emerge and engage us during this important week.
Christ's Peace to you. Scott.
