But do you really know what PresbyFest is all about? Do you know why you should come? Have you learned enough details to really understand what you're signing yourself up for? Are you convinced you that it's well worth giving up a precious weekend day?
Presbytery Day is a day-long series of trainings and workshops, hosted by the Seattle Presbytery. This is not a new idea; it used to be an annual event in the presbytery, but has not happened here for many years. This is a trial year for the event - if it is well-received and helpful to those who attend, it will likely be resurrected and become a permanent fixture in the life of the presbytery.
The schedule for the day:
9-10 am – Registration and service project begins
9:15-9:45 – Informal worship based on 1 Corinthians 14:26
10-10:50 – Workshop session 1
11:10-12 – Workshop session 2
1:10 – Youth Triennium - report and Energize
1:20-2:00 – Workshop session 3
2:10-3 - Workshop session 4
All workshops will be offered in both the morning and the afternoon sessions, to help ensure you're able to attend as many as possible. You don't have to attend the whole day; if you're only free for a few hours, or only have one workshop you'd like to participate in, then by all means - attend the parts which you're able.
The best part about the day - IT'S FREE! There is no cost beyond the money you spend on gas to drive there. The trainings are free, the meal is free (and should delicious, as it's being catered by our very own Scott Lumsden and Stated Clerk Dennis Hughes!), the parking is free, and you will leave with valuable knowledge.
Who will benefit? - Everyone! No matter who you are, there will be an event that you find useful. Teenagers, college students, and young adults are especially encouraged to attend and participate in the service project with Union Gospel Mission.
If you're a pastor, you might like to attend ......
If you're an elder, you might like to attend ......
If you're a deacon, you might like to attend ......
If you're everyone else, you might like to attend ......
So, are you convinced? Click here to sign up for the day. Let us know which workshops you think you'd like to go to, but know that you're welcome to change your mind at any time - registering does not lock you into attending those trainings.
