On Easter Sunday, Kent First welcomed sixteen new members into their church community, half of whom are Kenyans. They also had the privelege of baptizing one of the new members.
Pastor Carol Kirkpatrick shared some thoughts about what sixteen members mean to her church.
I know that doesn't sound like a huge amount to churches who are much larger than us, but it is the largest class of membership since I have seen here. It was exciting! Many thought we would die when I took a sabbatical. The opposite happened! There continue to be new faces at Kent Presbyterian Church through purposeful inclusion and nurturing of faith through small groups. We are praying that the church will change to meet the spiritual needs of our surrounding community.
Praise God for glad tidings and join us in praying for Kent First's continued adaptation to its missional calling in its community. He is Risen!
