SeaPres Ordination and Installation
SeaPres ordination and/or installation commission information
Date and time of ordination/installation must be confirmed directly with the Presbytery Moderator before completing this online form. Email SP office for moderator’s contact information.
The ordination/installation of a minister is an act of the Presbytery, or a commission appointed for this purpose (G-9.0503a(1)). This information will be reported at a Stated Meeting of the Presbytery for entry into the permanent records after a call for pastoral services has been approved and after the worship service. Ordination/Installation commissions are composed of 4 persons (G-90504.3) in addition to the Moderator: as nearly equal in number of ministers and elders as possible (2 minister members of Seattle Presbytery and 2 elders; no 2 elders shall be from the same church in Seattle Presbytery). Note: Ministers and elders who are not members of Seattle Presbytery may be invited to participate but are not part of the elected commission.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to make arrangements with the moderator (or designee) and the local church arranging for all logistics (bulletins, receptions, etc.). Questions: email@example.com.
The worship offering collected will be sent to Seattle Presbytery to support the Presbytery’s seminarians. Suggested bulletin text:
The offering at this service will be used by the Presbytery’s Commission on Preparation for Ministry to support inquirers and candidates in the preparation for ministry process in Seattle Presbytery.
The church will count and deposit all funds and then send one check payable to: Seattle Presbytery, 1013 8th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104 with memo line: CPM Seminarian Support.
