Dir. of Community Outreach - BelPres

We are looking for a colleague who can collaborate with the pastor and the Assistant Director of Children & Youth. We want someone with imagination, initiative, deep faith and an ability to step back and laugh. We love organized teaching plans and flexibility. Job Description:  Direct the overall operation of Sound View Camp and Retreat Center

Sound View Camp and Retreat Center is seeking a director.  The camp’s main focus is on the Summer Camp Ministry reaching out to children and families, but it also is available to weekend guest groups throughout the off season.  Set on 115 wooded acres in the Pacific Northwest, the camp has half a mile of beautiful waterfront acreage on Puget Sound.  On site, the facilities include a dining hall, two retreat buildings with housing for 24 and 36 people, rustic cabins, and platform tents.  Also, on site there is a permaculture garden, trails and a stable that has been used for horses.  Some of the activities offered are boating, a ropes course, paintball, gaga ball, and pickleball.  Located about an hour drive from Tacoma, Washington this would be considered a peaceful secluded location, off the beaten track but close enough to the small town of Key Center or larger communities in Gig Harbor and Tacoma to drive for entertainment, socializing, and groceries. 

Our ideal candidate would be seeking a unique opportunity to work in a pristine rustic camp environment that serves God’s people. We truly believe that a call to camping ministry and a passion for servant ministry are essential for this position.

Our Kids Church Intern will have the opportunity to work with the Mt. View Leadership Team to develop a thriving ministry for kids and families. Mt. View is a small, intergenerational community with a handful of growing families, with kids ranging from newborn to late elementary school. Woodland Park Presbyterian Church (WPPC) is seeking a part-time (15 hrs/wk) minister of music to join us in our dynamic ministry. WPPC is an exciting place to be right now as we continue to expand our warm, inclusive, and creative community of socially-active believers and seekers. An energetic and creative pastor is leading a congregation known for inviting the community into its art and music life.  WPPC’s members have a deep love for traditional organ and choral music as well as an appetite for exposure to and participation in diverse musical traditions. A candidate for this position should feel free to be creative and take musical risks. WPPC also reaches out to our neighborhood through our arts and music series and invites candidates with an interest in fostering “musical outreach”. As this is a combined conductor/accompanist position, this person should be comfortable behind our pipe organ (2-division, 18-rank Casavant, 1963) while conducting our small choir.
