The Commission on Ministry (COM) of the Presbytery of Seattle  understands that the most important focus of its work is to enable the healthy ministry of our pastors and congregations. The commission prayerfully and conscientiously seeks to:

  • Listen with congregations as they seek God's voice in their pastoral searches

  • Validate pastors who are called to specialized ministries

  • Serve as the fellowship of accountability for healthy and balanced relationships between parishes and pastors

  • Challenge our clergy to excellence in their ministries

  • Help clergy serve as prophetic and pastoral spiritual leaders by equipping Elders, Deacons and congregational Nominating Committees to serve as competent leaders

Another option: Safe Gatherings—www.safegatherings.com

Training Fee $29 (Responsibility of Minister Member/Applicant Pay)

Clergy Ethics and Congregational Boundaries Certificate (Approximately 2 hrs). Important: Minister members must select CLERGY ETHICS & CONGREGATIONAL BOUNDARIES training option, and NOT the general training for volunteers. See tutorial instructions below for additional details if needed.

Completed at any time ONLINE via website and in multiple sessions if needed.

Registration Tutorial HERE.

Again, minister members have the responsibility to submit a copy of their boundary training completion certificate every three years to the stated clerk.
