  • Assist with specific MRO tasks as assigned by Senior Ministry Relations Officer (SMRO).

Contracted flat rate: $150/scheduled Sunday

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Worship Leader will work with the Director of Worship to Lead the congregation of OPPC in Praise and Worship Music on Sunday mornings as scheduled.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      To be the lead vocalist in a team of volunteer musicians on Sunday mornings, singing a mix of contemporary and traditional praise music and inviting the congregation to join in.

·      Becoming familiar with all songs before Sunday morning. Songs will be given with minimum 1 week of notice by the Director of Worship and communicated through the website Planning Center Online.

·      Can work collaboratively with Director of Worship to bring new music ideas and teach new songs if requested in advance.

·      Managing the rehearsal time on Sunday mornings before worship and double-checking lyric slides with the volunteer A/V team.

·      Brings kindness and enthusiasm to our volunteer team and congregation, encouraging participation and community building through music during worship.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Love for Jesus, a heart for worship ministry, and a desire to equip our congregation to grow in their relationship with God through worship music.

  • An ability to work effectively with people, exhibiting creativity, understanding and patience

  • Knowledge of and experience with worship music (contemporary and traditional) and demonstrated experience in leading others in a musical setting

  • Strong Time-Management skills

  • Ability to learn new songs and lead volunteers in rehearsing music together.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate with the Director of Worship, OPPC staff, volunteers, and church members

Position Title: Office Administrator & Communications Manager

FT/PT: PT, 20 hours per week

Classification: Salaried/Exempt

Accountable to: Pastor/Head of Staff

Collaborates with: Staff, Elders, Deacons, & Church Members

Supervises: Custodian

Presence required on Sundays: No

Compensation: $25.00/hr.

 

Purpose of Position:

To provide direct administration of all office related responsibilities and to manage congregational communication.

 

Qualifications:

• Good at working with many people and multitasking.

• Good computer skills, especially Word, Publisher, Email, Constant Contact, and Basic Web Design.

• Strong desire to support many facets of Christian ministry.

• Good phone presence.

• Excellent time and task management skills.

 

First Priority Responsibilities:

1. Produce weekly worship bulletin, worship projections, courier, eNews, and update church calendar.

2. Update website.

3. Schedule room use for church and non-church events.

4. Supervise custodian and communicate room set-up needs.

5. Answer phones, greet and direct visitors.

6. Retrieve and distribute daily mail.

7. Coordinate scheduling of people for running a memorial service and production of memorial service bulletins as needed.

8. Work with Clerk, Pastor, and Treasurer to update data in church database and Constant Contact database.

9. Coordinate production of Annual Report.

10. Contact vendors e.g., fire department, pest control, alarm system, copy machine, phone, heating, email, website, etc., when issues arise.

11. Assist church members in use of office machines.

12. Monthly processing of staff credit card for Bookkeeper.

13. Order and stock office supplies, prepare and manage yearly budget to cover office expenses, and process the office bills weekly to be paid by the Bookkeeper.

14. Generate and send out special communication (emails, letters, etc.) when directed by Pastor.

15. Create and update church brochures and new member's packets as needed.

 

Secondary Priority Responsibilities when time allows:

1. Support Staff through production of emails, posters, flyers, copying, etc.

2. Support Session Committees through production of emails, poster, flyers, copying, etc.

 

Time requirements: This is a year around, part-time, position with scheduled office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday (some flexibility with actual hours and schedule).

 

Term: All employment at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church is at will employment and requires acceptance of personnel policies outlined in the Staff Handbook.

 

Compensation: The annual salary for this position is set by Session (Church Council). Presently the church provides, paid vacation, sick leave, and other leaves based on the approved Staff Handbook.
