5/18: Street Psalms conversation with Ben McBride

  • Lake Burien PC 15003 14th Avenue Southwest Burien, WA, 98166 United States (map)

Invitation from Rev. Lina Thompson (Lake Burien PC):

I am part of a network called Street Psalms—a group of friends committed to reflecting on what it means to live and preach a gospel that proclaims peace - particularly with and on behalf of those most marginalized in our respective communities. While a global network, the local office here often brings people in that can help us imagine new ways of thinking about peace and justice.

In May Street Psalms will be hosting a conversation with Ben Mcbride. ( Ben has done a lot of work at the intersection of Peacemaking and Social Justice in the city of Oakland. Street Psalms has invited Ben  to contribute to the work that is already happening here - by sharing some of what he has learned from his own work.

He will spend Thursday evening with Street Psalms Staff, Board, Senior Fellows and Friends. Friday Ben will meet with local pastors in Tacoma and on Saturday in Seattle with grassroots leaders and pastors:

Saturday, May 18th at 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Lake Burien Presbyterian Church

15003 14th Ave SW, Burien, WA

Refreshments and light continental breakfast will be provided. RSVP to Lina Thompson.

On Sunday, Ben is preaching  at Urban Grace in Tacoma.
