Special invitation from the Commission on Ministry to all SeaPres pastors serving churches:
Are you sure about this?: 5 Disruptions of the Hybrid Church
"What now?" is a legitimate question as we all move into the next stage of leading communities in a time of ongoing uncertainty and post-pandemic life. Leadership is caught in between not wanting to do anything too major, while also knowing that the need for some major changes has become evident during this time. Our emotions are a swirl of languishing spirits and lingering hope, but what we all know is that church life has forever been changed. This is an unsettling time for even the most adaptable of communities and leaders. The good news is that we do not have to do it all. Really.
Bruce Reyes-Chow is a technology enthusiast and long-time practitioner of online community who is also trying to lead the church he serves into a hybrid future. By lifting up five important disruptions that we may want to nurture moving as we move into a hybrid future, he will challenge us to see the breadth of possibilities for remote and in-person gatherings AND make clear some of the practical and cultural challenges that hybrid gatherings bring.
Question and Response time to follow.
Registration is required. Space is limited. The event is being sponsored by the Commission on Ministry at no cost to our pastors.
