Preschool Teachers - John Knox Community Preschool

Seattle Presbytery

John Knox Community Preschool is seeking morning/afternoon Part-time Preschool Lead and Assistant teachers.  Lead teachers will be experienced in construction and implementation of faith-based thematic curriculum that is developmentally appropriate.  Assistant teachers will support the lead teachers in maintaining a learning environment that is compassionate, caring and nurturing yet creative, orderly and consistent. All staff model Christian values through behaviors that reflect a personal faith in Jesus Christ.  Teachers make a difference in the lives of students every day and the successful candidate will accomplish this in a fun and energetic way, have a sense of humor, be patient and have the ability to implement discipline strategies with compassion.

All teachers…

Effective written and verbal communications skills are a must

Physical ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds up/down stairs with ease

Experience working with children age 2-5 years old

Upon hire or within 15 days: Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, National background check

Lead teachers…

Competency with computer programs MS Word, Publisher and e-mail

AA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
