We live in a culture steeped in unrest, from protests to shooting. What’s happening in our culture and what do we, as Christian leaders, have to say in the midst of it?
As we attempt to wrestle with that question, Lisa Sharon Harper, Chief Church Engagement Officer for Sojourners, will join us for a theological forum on the biblical concept of shalom in a world of unrest. In her book, The Very Good Gospel: How Everything Wrong Can Be Made Right, Lisa dives deep into the biblical concept of shalom, its implications on our understanding of the “good news” of the gospel, and the gospel’s implications on church engagement in personal, communal, and systemic justice. With a newspaper in one hand and a Bible in the other, Lisa will share insights from her journey and invite us to consider together how the church in Seattle might become shalom-builders today.
