4/22-23: Discovering Relational Wisdom Seminar w/Ken Sande

  • Highlands Community Church 3031 Northeast 10th Street Renton, WA, 98056 United States (map)

Brothers and Sisters in Seattle Presbytery,

I’d like to invite you to a seminar that could change the way your church does relationships.

This training will introduce your people to a discipleship paradigm called relational wisdom, which is a God-centered, gospel-driven form of emotional intelligence. This paradigm is designed to equip Christians with six specific skills that will help them to fulfill Jesus’ command to love God with all their hearts and to love their neighbors as themselves.

As believers improve their relational skills, they can build stronger families, (leading to fewer divorces and meltdowns with their teens), find greater fulfillment and success in their work, and, most importantly, develop relationships that attract others to Christ (John 13:34-35).

Refined in the Fires of Conflict

This seminar will be taught by Ken Sande, who has had over thirty years of “relationship-repairing” experience with Peacemaker Ministries and Relational Wisdom 360. Ken has mediated hundreds of conflicts and learned what destroys relationships and what strengthens them. Many of these lessons are set forth in the books he’s authored, including The Peacemaker: A Biblical Guide to Resolving Personal Conflict.

Proven Benefits in Multiple Settings

As illustrated by testimonies, the six skills of relational wisdom are producing benefits in a wide variety of settings, including churches, counseling centers, Christian-owned businesses, mission teams, pregnancy centers, Christian schools, law enforcement, and on military bases. As one pastor wrote:

“I apply RW every day, either with church staff and volunteers, in elders’ meetings, or in pastoral counseling. To keep the concepts fresh, I deliberately revisit them with my congregation every other month … it’s so easy to work into sermons. I am amazed by how effective RW is for all sorts of ministry settings! While most churches in my area are declining, divided and dying, my church is growing and united. RW360 and peacemaking have kept us unified and relevant. David Mason, Pastor of Green Valley Church

RW Seminar: An Opportunity to Grow

Ken is scheduled to teach a Discovering Relational Wisdom Seminar at Highlands Community Church in Renton, on April 22-23. The seminar is interactive and involves biblical exposition, analysis of film clips, group discussion, and real-life application exercises.

This training is relevant to anyone who wants to develop better relational skills, especially those who are called to lead, serve and set an example of godly relationships for others. The fee for the seminar is $25 and scholarships are available.

Evangelistic Opportunity

This training is designed to facilitate witnessing and evangelism in two ways. First, the seminar itself is designed to be welcoming and relevant to nonbelievers, so church members can feel comfortable inviting non-Christian friends, relatives, and co-workers to come and learn practical relational skills … and hear how the gospel empowers relational wisdom.

Second, as Christians practice these skills, their marriages, friendships, and working relationships can become more appealing to nonbelievers, thus fulfilling Jesus’ teaching that our love for one another is one of the most vivid ways we can demonstrate the transforming power of the gospel (see John 13:34-35; 17:20-23).
