Multiethnic and Missional? Leading Diverse and Vibrant Churches

Upper Gwinn, Seattle Pacific University, $25

Led by Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil, Dr. David Leong, and Dr. Darrell Guder.
What is the mission of God in our multiethnic world? How do Christian communities understand and participate in that mission? As national demographics shift toward increasing diversity in our cities and local communities, the Church faces numerous challenges and opportunities. In the midst of stark social divisions and polarization, do our faith communities fall into the same patterns, or do they offer a different way forward together?
These are the questions we’ll explore with Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil, Dr. David Leong, and Dr. Darrell Guder, whose collective work in Christian reconciliation, community development, and missional theology will set the stage for a vibrant conversation about holding these commitments together in the identity and ministry of the Church.
Whether you’re a student, pastor, ministry leader, or community member, please join us for a thoughtful discussion about the tensions and points of convergence between leading multiethnic and missional perspectives today. Following the main session, focused breakout groups will be available for further reflection and application.
