The Rev. Tony Nugent, a retired member of Seattle Presbytery & first member of MIPC to become an ordained minister, will speak about how the spiritual, moral, & intellectual values he first learned here have informed his church, community, and educational involvements - urban ministries with San Francisco & Seattle Presbyteries, studies at Yale, SFTS, & Syracuse Univ.,  civil rights, anti-war, anti-torture, and interfaith dialogue work, teaching religion at UW & Seattle U. He will also talk about the need for faith communities today to uphold & promote these values at a time when they are coming under severe attack from many quarters.
