The Seattle Presbytery Race and Equity Task force has been working hard to curate the right kinds of conversations on behalf of our common mission - especially as it relates to becoming better equipped to live faithfully as the Church committed to issues of justice in our region.
As you know, we’ve been hosting many important conversations toward that goal over recent months.
In November, we’d like to invite all of our churches to take part in the viewing of a locally produced film “12 Angry Men”. (See the information below) The film will run on November 22 @ 4:00 PM.
You can use this film to spur on conversations about Race and Equity in your families, communities and congregations.
There are a few congregations that will be hosting this as a “watch party” (socially distanced of course.)
We hope that congregations can creatively use this film as a resource and tool to support your local conversations. A discussion guide will be made available in the weeks ahead.
**As an important note, Acts On Stage, the local theatre company that is producing this film, is leasing the former MVPC in White Center - another commitment to ensure that we are stewarding well the resources we have toward missional purposes. Acts On Stage is a theatre group committed not just to the arts but also where the arts and biblical justice meet. Please visit here for more information: www.actsonstage.com
