Clerks' Coffee Klatsch

By popular demand, we will be having our last Clerks’ Coffee Klatsch Zoom of the year at 6:30 pm on December 8, 2020, and you are invited!  This is an opportunity for Clerks to gather together and discuss what is going on around the Presbytery, issues and updates of interest to Clerks, and just generally socialize.

If you have a particular question that you would like to ask in advance please send to: Clerk@seattlepresbytery.org. Otherwise, the following are some likely topics of conversation depending on interest:

Robert’s Rules of Order, 12th Edition:  Linked here is the promised document that outlines the major changes from the 11th Edition (With thanks to the OGA Clerk’s Office).  Which naturally leads to…

The Fine Art of Minute Taking:  We will discuss the basics of minute taking and what to do with reports and other attachments.  If there is interest, we can also discuss the wonderful world of abstentions.  Which naturally leads to…

Annual Submission of Church Minutes due by December 31 [G3.0108(a)]:  My vision for this task is to make it as easy for you as possible, so we can discuss how to do that.  I would appreciate feedback, good and bad, on the new Clerk’s Attestation form that serves as both an educational document and a cover sheet for the annual minutes submission.  And while we are talking about end-of-year tasks…

Annual Statistical Reports due by February 4, 2021:  Looking ahead, the Annual Statistical reports due date is coming up.  We can address the basics, and some things to keep in mind so you don’t lose your mind preparing the report!

New Clerk of Session Training - Clerk’s Handbook:  The Handbook is very helpful, but it can be a little overwhelming, and we have a few new Clerks of Session in the Presbytery.  If there is interest I would be happy to discuss setting up a time just for the new Clerks to meet with me for some Clerk 101 training.
