Essential Responsibilities

Respond to phone calls, voice mail and e-mails and forward information as necessary to appropriate individuals.  

Distribute mail to staff, renters and committees.

Monitor bus tickets and hand out emergency food bags and grocery cards

Provide weekly order of service, weekly e-mail bulletin, annual report, annual directory, correspondence, and other printed or digital materials as directed by the pastor

Maintain church calendar and pastor’s calendar 

Monitor office machines and contact vendors for maintenance

Maintain general files and personnel files. 

Update website and social media pages

Update printed forms (signup sheets, check request forms etc.)

Provide HR support such as background checks, new hire paperwork, interview

Provide support to Financial Secretary with coordinating Accounts Receivables.

Qualifications and Requirements

Proven administrative assistant experience; 1-3 years experience in an office environment

Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and planning skills

Proficient in MS Office and Google Docs

Comfortable with social media and learning new technology skills 

Knowledge of general bookkeeping, accounting and Human Resources skills preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred

Sand Point Community United Methodist Church is hiring a Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries.

This position is salaried at $43,000 per year with a stable source of funding. It requires 35 hours per week with fewer summer hours from mid-June until September. Days and hours are somewhat flexible. Sundays and Christmas Eve are required.

The Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries:

• connects children, youth, young adults and families and

High School Ministry Internship - University PC

Position
Full-time - High School Ministry Internship at University Presbyterian Church (40 hours a week);  Sunday – Thursday; some evenings and weekends required. 

Purpose
The purpose of the internship is to provide experience in all areas of High School Ministry (Edge) within the context of the larger church. Interns participate in learning opportunities while engaging in relational ministry with students and their families. Interns will support the larger mission of the church as we, ‘join Jesus to reconcile all to him.’ The internship provides:

  • Encouragement, mentoring, and training from the High School Ministry Director & Family Ministry team

  • Development of time management, project management, and conflict management skills

  • Growth in communication skills, and large group teaching practice

Technical Coordinator - Lake City PC

DESCRIPTION:  This position is responsible for the audio/visual aspects of Sunday Morning Worship. Currently work will be remote and includes:

●      Preparing a multimedia slide presentation based on a supplied order of worship;

●      Coordinating the collection of audio and video files that will be played during Worship.

●      Hosting the Zoom meeting;

●      Monitoring and controlling the mute status of the pastor, the worship leader, and the congregants;

●      Running  the multimedia slide presentation;

●      Playing audio files for prelude and worship service, occasionally playing video files and links as requested; and

●      Recording Services and making them available in the LakeCitypres.org Google Drive.

Depending on the status of live worship services resuming in the sanctuary, the work will be on site  at Lake City Presbyterian Church, and also include:

●      Microphone setup/take down;

●      Monitoring sound systems and operating the multi-line mixing board;

 This position is exempt from overtime and paid per performance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS.  Requires proficiency with audio/visual hardware & software, especially analog mixing board, slide presentation software (e.g. Google Slides, MS PowerPoint, Apple Keynote), and Zoom. Previous experience with Zoom hosting is a plus.

POSITION SCHEDULE & SUPERVISION.  Scheduled work is Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., approximately one hour of slide preparation after receiving the order of worship by Wednesday, and,  a weekly check in with the Pastor or Worship Leader Thursday or Friday before Sunday, to review the slides and Order of Worship.  The position is supervised by the Pastor and overseen by the Worship Committee of Session.  Evaluations at the end of 90-day probationary period as well as annual performance evaluations thereafter.

ACCOUNTABILITIES.

Attendance.  Sunday morning attendance, setting up and running equipment, and pre-Service check in with the Pastor and/or Worship leader during the week before each Sunday service are critical.

Set up/Take down. Upon the resumption of on site Worship, set up and take down equipment, perform sound checks, secure the equipment.

Producer. The main work is the role of producing the A/V experience for Sunday morning: keeping multimedia slides in sync with the worship service, playing music, running videos for the Pastor, monitoring the Zoom meeting, making sure participants are muted and unmuted as appropriate, creating break-out sessions if necessary, troubleshooting any issues arising during the worship service, etc.

COMPENSATION. This position is exempt from overtime and paid on a per-performance basis. There is no Personal Time Off or Sick Leave accrued. Payroll is monthly by direct deposit by submitting a timecard/email approved by the Pastor to the Bookkeeper at least 3 business days before the end of the month. The starting rate is $125 per performance.
